Sometime back in the summer I read a blog post (and I’m really sorry, but I’ve forgotten whose blog it was) about Angela Langford natural and organic skincare products. A free sample of tester products was being offered, personally selected by the skincare range’s creator, Angela Langford. I selected my products, was delighted to receive three little bottles including a face wash, a serum and a facial oil about a week later, put them in my beauty storage...and promptly forgot all about them! However, seeing as I’m on a complete no-spend ban until 6th December (and yes, I still have my emergency £10 unspent), I was rummaging through my stash to find un-used products, and was very pleased to find these.
Angela had selected three products from her range that she felt would suit my skin, based on a questionnaire I filled in when I’d ordered them. The products I have are Sweet Cheeks Daily Facial Wash, Perfect Pores, Anti-Ageing, Plumping & Pore-Perfecting Specialist Face Serum and Balanced & Beautiful Kiwi & Rosehip Face Oil. Included in the little package are information sheets on all three products, detailing ingredients, what specifically the ingredients do, how the product works and how to use it. Angela also wrote me a personal note saying why she had selected the products and how to use all three to their best advantage.

A hand-written note |
I’m going to start trialling the products from today, and update you all in a couple of weeks about how I get on with them. I’m especially looking forward to using the facial oil. A long time ago, I used to use a Body Shop facial oil and I really liked it at the time. I have no idea why I stopped using it, and I’ve not bought one since. Hopefully this one will be lovely as well.
I have to say, though, I’m already won over by the very personal service I’ve received, with the hand-written note, and the fact that Angela is up-front and honest on her website about her approach to skincare, and gives details of how she manufactures the products herself. She’s also a Somerset girl, so is quite local to me here in the West Country. I know we’re all concerned about reducing our food miles to help reduce emissions – perhaps we should be more local in our approach to beauty as well (given that some of us consume a lot of beauty products – myself included)!
From her website, Angela states:
"I always use high quality natural and where possible, organic ingredients. I use no parabens, no petrochemicals, no synthetic fragrances, colours or other skin nasties. My natural skin care products are tested on my friends, my family and myself – never on animals."
This sounds like a great approach to a new skincare brand, and one that I’m looking forward to trying out.
There are quite a few products in her range, and I notice that Angela is still offering a free trial of her products (although it says that you will have to pay postage and packaging now). You can see her website here.
I will write another post in a couple of weeks on how my trial has worked – looking forward to it! By the way, this is my 100th post – I can’t believe I’ve written that many!
Thanks for reading! xx

ReplyDeleteI think it was Sweet Miss Jo that posted about this line. I remember reading it and filling in the details to receive some samples. I never heard anything though and no samples arrived. I'd pretty much forgotten until I read this. I feel too cheeky to chase up free samples though. I would have loved to try them though. I look forward to hearing how you get on.

Thanks for all your comments - I'm enjoying using them so far - update shortly!
ReplyDelete@ ModestyBrown I think you're right that it was on Jo's blog. That's ringing a bell now. When I ordered the sample, I remember the website failed and kept re-loading, so I wasn't hopeful that my order had gone through, although it must've. I know what you mean about chasing up freebies!
